What makes an app blocker Christian
Not a cross on the icon. A general blocker with a Bible verse on its loading screen is still a timer. What makes a blocker Christian is what the unlock costs: if the way past the block is Scripture, the tool is doing something no general blocker does.
The Doorpost is built on that idea. The apps you name stay locked until the day's verse is written out by hand from your own Bible. The verse is not shown on the screen, so the Bible has to open. Then the apps open for the day.
What it locks and what it leaves alone
You choose the apps. Most people lock two or three feeds: the one they open without deciding to, the one they check "for a second", and the one that leaves them feeling worse. Messages, calls, maps and banking stay open, because the goal is a better morning, not a disabled phone.
The lock resets each morning. Once the verse is written, the apps stay open until the next day. This is a gate at the start of the day, not a fight that lasts all of it.
How it differs from Opal, one sec and Screen Time
General blockers unlock with time, a pause or a tap, and most have a way past the block. iOS Screen Time has the Ignore Limit button. They are good tools for reducing total phone time and they say nothing about faith.
The Doorpost uses the same Screen Time permission to keep apps closed but makes the unlock a handwritten verse. It has no streaks, badges or notifications, no account, and no data collection; the App Store privacy label confirms nothing is collected and the app works with Airplane Mode on.
