The Doorpost does not collect any data about you.
That is the whole policy, but App Store rules require the detail, so:
What The Doorpost stores
Everything below stays on your device, inside the app's own storage. None of it is sent anywhere.
The apps you chose to block. iOS never tells The Doorpost what these are. Apple hands the app opaque tokens that only the operating system can interpret, so it cannot read the names of your apps and has no way to learn them.
Which verses you have written, and when. Stored as book, chapter and verse numbers, so a verse can rest for thirty days before it counts again.
Your settings. The Bible translation you read, your daily reset time, and your light or dark preference.
What The Doorpost does not do
No account, no sign-in, no profile. No analytics, crash reporting, advertising, or tracking of any kind. No third-party code. No network requests at all, other than to Apple's App Store for the optional one-time purchase. Nothing you type is transmitted: the Bible text is bundled inside the app, so verse matching happens entirely offline.
Purchases
The optional one-time purchase is handled by Apple. Apple processes the payment and tells The Doorpost only whether the purchase exists. The app never sees your name, payment details, or Apple Account.
Screen Time
The Doorpost uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) APIs to hold your chosen apps closed. This permission lets the app apply and remove restrictions. If you turn on re-locking, iOS watches how long your blocked apps are used and tells the app only when the limit is reached, so it can close them again; no usage figures are recorded, stored, or sent anywhere.
Deleting your data
Delete the app. Everything it stored goes with it. There is no server copy, because there is no server.
Children
The Doorpost is suitable for all ages and collects nothing from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
